On the 91 VAC engines is there a difference between the red and blue head engines or was it just a anodizing color change.

Thanks.

I think the blues are the newer ones and has some grooves in the drum housing for oil.

The reds have no grooves.

Early first version Red head " HR" sloped carb ( one bolt with collet lock) then just hear rumor someone make complained about carb fell off. Latest Red head changed little modified improve alumium drum housing with flat carb( two bolts) . In present Second version Blue head " VAC" flat carb ;)

Alan the first Vac .91's had a red head also as paul said they are the same. Paul would know because he had / has both reds and blues
This is correct when you are talking VAC-91s. Red & Blue No diffference, just the color of cooling head. I have owned them both. One of the Best Out of the box Race engines we have today....... Allen is talkng about HR 91 engines... maybe he did not read the question??
