I still have a few More Piccos to blow up....... Just when i think I have the best pipe,Something else comes along,

You know there's never a one best Joe! Just a best combination! I like both of the suggestions so far. Don't know why? :)

Andy do you think each engine has its best pipe or does the Boat designs request the pipe. (load changes in different boats )

Diffrent engines like different pipes, i have tested that behind the garage. Problem is when you have 2 engines what you think "are the same" but you get different readings on the "same" setup.

Joe, When I made the FAT belly pipe in 1994 we were running the Picco 67 EXR with the Picco 67 nitro pipe. Was a consistant 80 mph in race trim. I tried the FAT pipe back to back and there was absolutely no difference. Same speed. Same throttle response. With no gain the proto FAT pipe was tossed aside. Months later the FAT pipe was tried on the CMB 67 Evo. There was a several mph gain and better throttle response over any other pipe that was tried on the 67 Evo. in the same boat. Needless to say the pipe was sent over to Italy and put into production.

And to answer your qusetion, yes, boat design and weight play a big factor in what pipe will work best.

I thought that Joe bought new CMB Silver big belly tuned pipe  what wrong did you run with it?

Alan I have about a 100 - 60 hydro pipes. Andy and i were talking about the difference in hydros and the load differences. Most of the time the difference in Hydros and mfger will determine what is best. Not So Much the Engine wants a Particular Pipe...
