Guys,

I wanted to start a Post about this SGX 45 that I recently bought here on IW. It has a Fresh stock MAC84 and I have a V967. The boat had quite a few issues but after a few days it's getting close to a test run. You can see the funky round Sullivan tank any idea if it will work ?? I still need a pipe mount and a way to mount the mini servo for the throttle. Any comments are welcome.

Thanks Phil

Phil looks pretty good and nice paint .... you will be surprised how fast that dang thing can run.My 80 saw rigge(with a Mac 84)r was built based on the SGX 45 but for SAW you will have to remove the rear sponsons and the fin A 2170 cupped(7.0-7.5) is also a good prop for this purpose.

Good luck

Gill

GO FAST AND STRAIGHT!

Use the 85 MG for the throttle . CMDI sells a little servo mount kit for that hull but basically its two beams running across the compartment that the servos mount on . Speedmaster pipe mount should work fine , reinforce the lid under the pipe mount . Should be friggin ballistic !!!!!

Tank should work ok with 5/32"tubing but may starve for fuel as it gets low and sloshes around .

Thanks for the advice. I'm getting closer to getting it wet.

Tom, Thanks for the advice on the Throttle servo, I used two small hardwood beams I found at the Hobbie store. Worked great.

Guys,

Going to try and run it this weekend. What is the best gasket ( seal ) between the motor and header ? Thanks Phil

Phil I use Prather silicone coupler "small size" to fit the header on my Mac 84......

Brian,

I think we had a fair deal. Good price and super fast shipping. Almost everything we buy used takes a little work. We'll see how it runs tomorrow. Phil

We had a great day at the Lake. Nice weather and light wind. I did get the Eagle in the water. It launched easy with a H30 prop but I kept having problems with the Exhaust leaking between the header and block so it would never get up on the pipe all the way. I need the correct gasket or seal, anyone know where I can find it ???

Look at your header was short tube . I plan to sell my header 10 degree long 4" with new o rings & spring $40.00+ $5.00 mail =$45.00 Are you interesting ? let me know thanks Allan
