I am currently building a twin road runner with cmb .91 hr and I would like to build another twin rigger. Which twin engines would be best, fastest? The .45, .67 or .80. Obviously the .80 has the most power but the rpm's must come into play.

Only in exceptionally rare times will you see a twin 45. Most are 80/90's with some being 67's. A properly set up twin with 67's can run rather well but are still the exception among the masses.

EVO or RS 90-91's . Weight and size help alot in the rough water.
Im putting together with a pair of cmb 80s i will let you know how it works out
I recently bought a twin 90 sgx, hull only. Now I can buy 2 Kalistratov 80's, do you think they will run properly in this hull or should i go for a pair of 90s?

I'd go with 90's. I have both the K82 and the K90 and there is a reasonable difference....

Whats that old saying? There's no replacement for displacement! B)

We have run twin CMB-90s (GP. EVO 1s, EVO 2s), K-90s, and MAC 84s in the T-90 SG hull. The CMBs provided nice consistent smooth power, good idle and decent speed (I believe it heat raced in the 85-88 mph range). The K-90s provided awesome power when then ran right - but they were too inconsistent. Our last set of engines we tried were Andy's MAC 84's (first generation). They ran really strong. At the 2000 internats it was running consistently in the low 90 mph range (best pass was 95.5). Please keep in mind the MAC engines were stock (no grinding on the sleeves etc.)

I remember back in 1993 at the internats in St. Louis, Art MacMeans had a twin 67 Eagle (with the first generation Picco 67 EXR). That boat was awesome - well at least the way Art drove it looked awesome

So, depending on the weight of your hull, twin 67's, 84's, or 90's will all work well. Realistically, when you are heat racing against 5 other twins, the water gets kinda choppy so you really can't drive wide open anyways, so find a set of motors that provide good overall power - don't be too worried about top end speed. In most heats, you will be too busy navigating around all the other dead boats in the water....

Good luck...

Steve

Jeff, here is the picture of your twin, looks great. You have any more pictures of the inside? Click here

I also added 2 pictures of my twin (pictures are from the owner, will pick it up next week) Twin 1 Twin 2

Is the Eagle the newest version, with no strut pads, more blow out and symetrical wings? Doc
