I had my worn out MAC45 and CMB45 HR engines. I gave up my Best of one SGX 45 because big problem won't fit rail mounts for my new Picco 45R( hit on boom main and too close at tank) so I had sold it to my good freind " Rob". He got brand new AA45w/ angle carb and he is very happy with it . Al hobbs watched his boat really fast!!! . He said " Big Thank " to me . ;)
DandJ made a carb to work,I have one on my sport 40

Thanks for the boat Allan, its the fastest 45 rigger I have ever drove. The AA45 was brand new and only had 2 minutes run time in tweak time and was an absolute missile. Thanks also to Eric Canto for the prop and to Al Hobbs for the great engine. :)

I would suggest a Roadrunner because its a good rough water boat for heat racing. My old mans is very fast. We have two JAE 45 boats and they have hit 80 on the gun with an AA 45 with a real modest propeller. All of the new hulls are very fast though so it really comes down to preference.

All the hulls mentioned from the top builders are built to exacting standards and will reward the racer with many , many years of service . All the boats mentioned except for the JAE which I have zero experience with have good crash survivability and great speed with a balanced powerplant , prop , pipe combo . I hear through the grapevine that Dale Powell is now making carb adapters which will solve many water ingestion / fitup problems . 45 Hydro is a very rewarding class that does not consume a ton of fuel .
