Was wondering about the best numbers to stay with on mods so I wont get a on/off switch for a engine.

Currently have a HTB 290 and a NR SS with the following specs,

Timing 180/122 Clearance at .009 and Vol at .19cc

Could I take this out to 185 and 128 with .006 maybe ?

60 percent Red Max, Rossi low volume pipe and a Anderson 1440, CG at 28 percent, 6 lbs current setup.

Thanks for any information,

Jeez!! That ought to run great as you described it. Have you actually run the set-up? Personally, I be more concerned about trimming the boat with the specs you listed than trying to "Pump more Poop" out of the engine.

Steve,

I would do more setup and propeller work first,it seems that you are good

to go with your engine setup. With doing more propeller testing you will

learn a lot more about your setup, this will be more helpful than a light switch.

Have Fun Testing, :)

The only thing I would do is to set the head clearance at .006". Play with the length of that small volume pipe and you will have a winner.

Yes the current setup runs very well, was looking for just a little bit more,

Thanks for the clearance, prop, and setup comments, I will try them out
