have done both, anyone know of benefits to one or the other
I also have tried both sides and find no differance , the thing I find is if you are left handed, and launch it your self it works better on the right.

+1 about the launching .

Gas motors are real bad for the pit person getting burned by the pipe on some of the wider hulls.

Also watch your water exits as I have seen water burns as well when carrying the boats.

When racing you always launch to the left , so exhaust on right (from transom)to keep it from blowing in your pitmans face.

It's the least you can do for a good pitman.

Still fairly new to monos, i had put them on the left(looking from the rear) because everyone else did.......the setup instructions for my .21 sd3 ducer said to put it on the right. weight to the inside for turning says jerry. plus, being right handed i grab the left gunwale to launch with no pipe in the way.

Since everyone should be launching from the left it is only natural for an open hull boat to have it on the right.

Also do you want to have your back to oncomming boats while launching.

Have it on the left, always have. probaley always will. exaust goes out the back. or if i run a deflector turn it around out to the right.
