If you are going for SAW sure but no point if you want a good handling hull. I believe Gil Gisono spelling?? Did it but, I would stick to the 21 in a 21. If you build your JAE on the lite side you can get it around half pound heavier.

I could care less for racing with it just a stupid fast boat is all I'm looking for

The 21 will be plenty stupid with the correct engine, pipe and prop!!! Plus a bit on the controllable side!!!

I can offer a tip on this subject.......

I built a narrowed tub ultralite version, With a way hot Trinity Picco .12

Came apart at speed after bout three tanks so REALLY do the bracing on the tub overkill.

Yes Kevin is right I did it with a Go .21 and it handled good but if you consider heat Racing a bigger boat is the direction..I guess with a .21 Nova it will be very unpredictable.! The lite version WON'T support any .21 engine. Gill

Thanks for the answers guys I have done sething like this with a 40 in a 21 size rigger and it was a rocket ship

I tried this with a novarossi .21 in a .12 jae. I would not recommend it. It was very fast but very unstable. I don't think I ever even completed 2 full laps with it. Huge waste of time.

There's nothing wrong experimenting.....most of us dream with faaaast boats ..but in this case I'm pretty sure you won't take profit of this combo because the tub is narrow for a .21,running time will be short due to the small tank and with a Strong motor like a Nova or CMB you will experience lot of blow overs but it's up to you go ahead with your Project.Gill

How fast do you want to go? A .21 hull with a good .21 motor will do high 60's easy with the right prop and pipe.

Is there ever a thing a too fast lol
Do you run at a pond protected from wind so that the water is mostly calm? I sold my .12 rigger partly because my pond is rarely calm and small fast boats just don't do too well in rough waters.

Tony youre right.Just cut the shaft at the limit of threads with a cutting wheel and a Dremel.Take care to carefully isolate the front bearing or remove the cranckshaft off the crankcase for this task.Have done this many times.Gill
