I can tell you falconry is MUCH better than ballroom dancing. I live less than a 1/2 a mile from a place that has a huge falcon exhibit/birds of prey. Its quite cool to watch them! Good luck with it.

i have watched falconry, and actual "in the field" hunting with them-REALLY COOL!!!! plus, watching eagles and ospreys hunt/fish is a great pleasure for me, while out fishing. i think you will find it very enjoyable, interesting and challenging. one question, how did she jump from ballrooms to birds of prey  ?????? oh, never mind, it's a wife    !!!

Hi All,

I have officially started to build my FireFighter .21 . I am going to run a NR.21LS with a OPS3280 pipe CD machine turnfin (hardware is up in the air right now ( A Friend said he had a package coming in the mail for me as far as hardware so will see)). I Have a few pics of the build process but it is going slow, started building the tub until I get some money together for CF Spar (no work since 12/21 is killing me). would anyone be interested in see my build so far, I could create a folder for this build also?

Thank You,

Paul

P.s I will be asking questions again real soon, I am using I think its Preston Hall pics as reference on was to go about building.

These are what I am going to try and reference : https://www.intlwaters.com/gallery/thumbnails.p...e=1&sort=ta

Hi All,

I got a question regarding strut and rudder. The tub of the rigger I am building is 3.5" wide and center point will be 1.75" . The strut if I use both left and right side mounts and the mount for the rudder will make the center point of the strut to the outside edge of the rudder mount 2" . I have been looking alot at Preston's build and it looks like he only used 2 bolts to hold his strut and 2 bolts to hold his rudder in place, I just want to ask if this is a good idea? I also looked into Aluminum U Channel and I can get it but it comes in 8' lengths and i only need 1" so cant justify that. Can I use 2 bolts to hold strut on transom? Can I use 2 bolts to hold rudder on transom? Any suggestions regarding this mounting dilemma Please Help :)

Thank You ,

Paul

Use 2 bolts with plenty of backing, quality stainless fasteners and you'll be fine.

Yes 2 bolts will be fine! I have never used more than 2 bolts on either the strut or rudder. I also don't use any kind of special backing, just 4/40 or 6/32 blind nuts in the plywood transom.

Thanks Guys,

I was figuring i could do just 2 seeing as how Preston is doing this and his boats are seeing alot more G's then mine do :)

Thank You Again ,

Paul

You can use alum screws to cut down the weight or 4/40 screws and drill them out.

Thanks again everyone for all your Help :)

I could use a Black carb, I don't like the size of the NR carb its crazy wide (the body I am talking about with the needle adjustments). Problem being with the black carb is I don't know how to mod it for the NR and I really cant afford to have it modded. Work has been really really slow for me, Ive worked 3 days since the 21st of December and cant afford nothing right now. I have been looking for work but even when I do go back to work it will be atleast 1 month to catch up if not more. I will be looking for more guidance in the near future for sure, I appreciate all the Help Guys :)

Thank You ,

Paul

Gooy.

when you get some coin call my dad.. he can fix the nova carb so it fits and WORKS.

In my own opinon it is the best carb for a nova.

chris

Thanks Mike,

Chris, I will also get a hold of your dad or rod regarding the modding of the carb and actually maybe even looking the engine over. Like I said , I have fallen a little behind and will take a little while to catch up. I would hope when I can afford to have some stuff done I can get a good turn around time seeing as it will probably be march when I can afford this.

Thank You Again Guys :)

No luck finding a black carb yet still looking

Paul

I may have a Novarossi Geraghty .21 carb. that ran on my HIGHLY (Marty Davis/Norm US#1 Hydro) modified NR .21 in my Mono until it blew a bearing and totaled everything. I have changed to CMB.

If your stuck on a black carb I may also have a Picco carb that has been bushed to fit the .21 Novarossi. I believe it has the low end needle. Both would require a third channel remote needle. I don't think you can do better then either of these carbs. I"m at work but if your interested I'll check tonight when I get home.

Don't really want to sell them but have "been there done that" with the work situation so if it will help to get you up and running we can work something out.

Ed

Yes Ed,

I am very interested in a carb that doesn't need to be modded. I appreciated your help, if you have a carb you might be interested in selling I would very much be interested. If anyone has something for a .21 rigger I am very intrested. I have a stock NR carb for the engine, but I really dont like how wide it is with the both pushrod ends touching either side of the tub on the rough in setup ( so I gotta do something).

Thank You,

Paul

Hi All,

These may sound like a sorta dumb question's, but does a stuffing tube get glued into a stuffing box? Also are the carbon fiber tubes that are attached to the tub hollow or do you use a piece of wood dowel rod and back them on the inside?

Thank You ,

Paul

Hey Paul,

The shaft log gets permanently glassed into the tub and the stuffing tube slides into this shaft log. This is to allow you the ability to remove the stuffing tube so that it can be replaced if any damage is incurred. The stuffing tube should not be permanently affixed to the shaft log.

On the Carbon tubes that I use the large tube that goes through the tub will have a doubler tube inside. I.e. The same tube that is used for the sponson inserts.

Hope this helps

Sweet that works for me, I have more of the smaller diameter tubing. I also did the stuffing box like you had mentioned, just wasn't sure if was suppose to be glued in the stuffing tube.

Thank You,

Paul
