No Matt, doesn't mean that at all. I would love to make the trip if it works out. It's a huge time commitment for us as most races are between Fla and NC. This one requires a 11 hr trip for us. Maybe I can talk a couple of other guys up here into making the trip as well. Time will tell.

Kris,You can't bail on something you have not yet committed to do. Time will tell. It would be worth it just to smoke your Aussie azz and bring back some smoked kangaroo!!!!....lol

Substitute "partner" for "Herb Stewart Boat Race"

If only Bill and Gabe would whip up some more of thse cartoon things from a few years ago....

As a side note, who is the poor bugger that would have to sit in a car with you for 11 hours if you decided not to be a chicken and come play?

The genius that is the Herb Stewart race is that it really doesn't require a large amount of time off from work. You could work all day thursday, and leave after work and be here Friday morning, and practice half a day and then go get a good night sleep or you could leave Friday morning and arrive Friday night. Then practice Saturday morning with racing starting at noon. Then we should finish early afternoon Sunday which gives you the option of either driving home Sunday or Monday morning.

Two guys can split 11 hours of driving without blinking an eye. One guy could drive the whole trip with one can of Rock Star and some loud music

Plus you have the opportunity to put these world class timber boats up against some serious competition on probably one of the best ponds in the country for tunnel boat racing!

All I see are reasons why you should gather the troops and make the trip, I am not seeing any reason not to show!

Plus based on the pictures I saw at the WTC you could probably hit your best friend Otto up for a place to stay

Hahaha. Love it Matt. I should have known your buddy Greg was up to something with that camera. Otto and I are fine. I knew him from many many years ago and I was glad to see the old man can still drive a tunnel. It's great to be racing again and enjoy running Carl's "timber" boats. Otto still racing one of Carl's older designs even today should tell you something. Run anything from Vansracing and you can't go wrong...

I run two of those fiberglass tubs made by Vans Racing, and I will probably be running one of those Timber 355's in Charleston in October if he ever releases the darn things.

But more importantly, after all these years of the Brandon Club coming to your back yard, I think you need to come to our back yard for a change and support the class of tunnel boats that you love so very much!

Matt,

Smart man. The 355 should be released any day. Carl is waiting on the three prototypes to be tested to make sure all is good. He should be able to let you know something any day now. As for back yard, remember Atlanta and Charleston is about halfway between Brandon and Wake Forest....

It a a really long haul for sure.

It's 8 hours from Brandon to Charleston, so you only have a few more hours to travel. I plan on doing Brandon to Outer Banks, NC in one straight shot driving all by myself in three weeks.

I have yet to see a good excuse, keep trying Mr. Shaw. We expect to see you come November!

Wow, you will come within a couple of hours of me. Let me know how long it takes you. It would help to know how long the trip would be. It's on the radar screen for sure.

Ron it says 12 hours from my apartment door to the door of the rental house we are staying at but I will probably easily make it in under 11 hours. I drive fairly fast and I never stop to go to the bathroom but even at 11 hours, that's child's play. I drove from Brandon, to Northern New Jersey, in one shot in like 17 hours all by myself. I know you are starting to age, but don't let it get to you big guy!

Lol. I know, getting old for sure. 11 hrs is about what I thought. Thanks Matt.

I will see who ever decides to come race in October/November...

Good luck testing and will be great to meet some of you and catch up with others I met 7 years ago (ahhh how time flies)

Kris don't worry, I have the port a potty company dropping over a special one for you, so it flushes backwards, so you feel right at home
