The 2009 Hydrofest will be at the GM Tech Center in Warren Michigan on August 8th. For this years race, we have added B and D Hydro to our normal 1/8 Scale and Sport 40 classes. We will run the "shoot-out" format in which we reset the heats each round with the top points boats racing each other. This format lends to a very competitive racing!

The race will be five rounds with the top six boats only in the last round. With only four classes, there is no waiting around for hours like at a regular race.

The 1/8 Scale class has a traveling trophy awarded to the winner. There is a lot of history and tradition involved with that trophy. Steve Peterson won it last year and is the defending champion.

There is no other race format like this, and it's a great opportunity to get ready for the big race in Hobart.

Registration is open until the drivers meeting. You can call it in, or e-mail. Pay when you get there, none of that pre-stuff required. Let's have some fun racing nitro again!

As of right now, yes. Nobody knows what the future holds at GM. Every year we have to submitt or race to the management, and this is our 18th race there. Our club has been working hard at finding new race sites, and came up with a few. Next years race could be at the Tech Center, or somewhere new. Hope to see you there!

Tom..

I've always liked racing at the Tech Center. A great site! I hope this isn't the last year. If I have anything left in one piece after the Nats, I'll be there for sure! LOL

See you at the Nats!

Steve

Sorry Ron, not this year, but if Becca wants to run in B-Hydro, I know you have a real fast one!
No worries. I'll just tell her uncle Tom changed the program and she can't race. LOL You can count on your butt getting kicked next time she sees you.

Later, Ron

Yes, they take it with them. But I have to get it back somehow. Ken Hildreth's name is on it, but I don't know if he took it with him. Steve Peterson has it at his house since last year, so it's out of the country right now.
