Hey Gang,

It's that time of year again...

Here is the LINK to the eagerly anticipated entry form for the 2008 Atlanta Spring Nationals! If you plan on racing in this year’s event, I STRONGLY suggest that you fill out the form and get it in the mail to Wendy ASAP!!! Last year the race sold out in just over 1 WEEK!!! Entries are taken and slots are filled on a “first come first served” basis. Unfortunately, we can not make special exceptions regardless of the circumstances. In order to manage the influx of entries and avoid unecessary confusion we are ONLY accepting paper entries via snail mail. No E-Mail or Telephone entries will be accepted.

In other words: SEND IN YOUR ENTRY FORM TODAY!!!

On behalf of the Atlanta Model Boaters I would like to thank each and every racer that has helped to make this event such a success over the years. We sincerely appreciate your continued support!!

Thanks,

Lamar Huff

President

Atlanta Model Boaters

P.S. Please note on the flier that we are now requiring prepayment @ the time of entry. Hopefully this will discourage people from entering just to "hold" a spot.

Lamar,

Having trouble accessing Jim's boat dock to retrieve entry form.

Can you post entry form on your AMB website.

Thanks Keith

Hey Gang,

++++++++++++++++++++++

1) I tried to upload the flier here, but the system keeps telling me I do not have enouch space. The flyer is not very big and I have no other attachements on the message, but it keeps telling me: Attachment space used 176.15K of 200K and I haven't even attached the flyer yet??? Can anyone help me? Big Chuck has posted it above and if that doesn't work for you send me a PM and I will E-mail you the flier ASAP.

++++++++++++++++++++++

2) Unless we cut back to three rounds or push the race out to three days there is just not enough time for ANY additional classes on the roster. I try to give the more popular classes @ least 2 heats per round and the REALLY popular classes get 3 heats. Quick math...

172 heats X 9 minutes per heat = 1,548 minutes

1,548 minutes divided by 60 = 25.8 hours

25.8 hours divided by 2 = 12.9 hours per day of racing

++++++++++++++++++++++

Thanks,

Lamar

Can someone help me out with an explanation of IMPBA scale registration requirements as referred to on the entry form?? My scale is registered in NAMBA district 3, but does that count??

Or is this a registration for concourse judging?

Don,

Here are the IMPBA requirements:

Registration Procedures

1. All boats must be registered with the District Chairman.

2. The District Chairman will require the following information in writing:

a. Name, address and phone number

b. IMPBA number

c. Unlimited name, year raced, and number

d. Length and beam of prototype boat and model

e. Prototype designer and boat colors

f. Must submit a photo of prototype boat

g. $5.00 initial registration fee and a $3.00 annual renewal fee due by

March 1. The registrant will receive a District Chairman approved form

verifying current registration. Approved form must be brought to all

contests. Purpose of fee-monies will be used for high point district

trophy, postage, printing costs, and other expenses incurred.

3. Boat must compete at a racing event within one year from registration.

If your NAMBA registration conforms to similar rules I see no reason not to honor it.
