I've got the pix done, now I'll take them out to my sister's store and put the good ones on 1 disc for Tom. I tried to post some but somehow it won't take them. I've got some shots of Mike's new hulls, both of the Wild Things, the .12 and .21 versions. I've got pix of "Dr." Phil Thomas' new Sport 20 boat and I won't call it the Bat Boat Phil! Hopefully Mike and Phil will send in some of their shots too.

Norm, you put in a lot of hours being Pit Boss and it was fun working with you. You also got a lot of votes for the award that Randall Thomas ended up by getting.

Tom, I need your address so that I can get the pix to you ASAP. E-mail or PM me.

hey ron this was a real expierence

for me,one, it was my first internats and two,i never pit bossed a entire race.let alone, some more than 50

i didn't see the ballots for that award but i want to thank everyone who voted for me!but i must say that randell really worked hard and kept us up to date real fast with all the heats and also working the c-d tower too and putting up with the clock work. i gave him my vote for that award and have to give my thanks as well!

So you guys have an award for the people running the event?

Please tell me more - might motivate some people here to help out a little more!

I just went out to my truck and found the rulebook. It is called the William E. Lefeber Award.

"This is an award for outstanding sportsmanship and service to the organization. The award will be voted on and presented at the International Regatta each year. Nominations for this award may be sent to the IMPBA office at any time,or given to the President or Secretary during the International Regatta up to the cutoff timeannounced at the Awards Banquet. The members attending the banquet will do the voting."

This is considered the IMPBA's most prestigious Award given because it is voted on by your peers, not won because of how well you raced. The person that won, Randall Thomas did deserve it but there were many more at the race that could have won it.

It shouldn't take the chance of winning an Award at the race to motivate a person into being more helpful to others. It does recognize the people that go over and beyond to make it better for others. Randall busted his butt for at least 7 days working the computer, handling any electrical glitches, doing CD duties, racing 2 OB tunnels and pitting for his daughter in the Kid's Class. If you go into the Internats Picture page, you will see him in there inside Mark McCray's trailer on the computer. BTW, I'm in picture 4 driving the retrieve boat.

Ron you are right on the Lefeber award. I got nominated for it at the 1999 Internats here in Huntsville Priscilla won instead but I was so proud just to be nominated for it. Made me feel like my contribution didn't go unnoticed. Randall does work his a** of I saw him last year working at the Evansville event.

;) hey ron that was well said and well done by the way are you attending our race in sept?

My plan is to come in Saturday to watch the Gas boats race then race in the Nitro classes on Sunday. If my help is needed I will be able to.

We have the Street Rod Nationals North in town that weekend so I'll miss that but it wouldn't be the first time. Back in 2000, I went to the Ultimate 21 Shootout.

Here's a shot of one of the nicest guys at the Internats. He is the one that helped Craig out when he had problems with the big twin. He had parts and Fuzzy Buddies ready for us after the races. Norm is barely in the shot at the right. Quite the class clown too with his stink bombs!
