I am new to the FE scene and have seen a 1521 /1.5D work good in a 33" seaducer very fast,,,would you think the 1515 2200kv may be faster?

any more info?

It's all a matter of weight and prop. The 1521/1.5d is a great p mono motor with enough prop. I used to run an X452/3 with that motor on a DF33.

Most in our club run that motor in our P Monos. In larger mono hulls it is superior IOE, particularly in rougher water. Speeds are in the mid-50s. In light, short monos the 1515 works great too.

Jay ,,do you know what the purpose is with the 5mm shaft as opposed to the 8mm shaft ,,considering there are collets to fit both..I would think the 8mm would be more superior.what your thoughts??

David,

The 8mm shaft is preferred on the 1521 and longer motors. The 5mm shaft works fine on the 1515 and shorter motors. Reason being bending at higher speeds. For sport running a 1521 with a 5mm shaft is still very reliable when RPM is not above 40kRPM.
