Here is a shot I got after the record run. I need to download all the pics/video off my phone, but I do have a couple of quality videos of some of the prior passes showing him running in the mid-to-upper 130's...

The record run, however, just SOUNDED faster right from the start. Motor had a completely different, much higher-pitched scream to it! I could tell something special was about to happen!

Just goes to show you just how HARD Joerg had worked to accomplish what he accomplished. Pretty amazing stuff. These guys are on a whole different level!

NICELY done, Tyler!!

(look it up...)

Way to go Tyler. I wish B and I could have been there. I guess you will just have to go even faster the next time.

Congrats on the record Tyler. Well done! I hope this brings the JAG team out of retirement. I for one would love to see what they build to try and get it back. This years event looked amazing and 5 days! ( that's a lot of spare parts!) Great job to Mark and team for putting it all together.

Living in the UK now, it is definitely not easy for me to make it to Legge lake but the event has such great memories for me that I think a once a year homage is a must. Next year! Plus my son lives in California so that's an easy sell to my wife.

Tyler,do you have a list on the other records broken?

Cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike,

I have been emailing back and forth with Joerg and he was trying to make it, but work has him very busy these days. He hopes to come next year.

I need to contact Kim to copy the official records and I will post them up in the next day or so.

Be sure to take a look at the pics from the event here as well: http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=62679

Congrats Taylor ,

Well done. Best of your rigger is that it run hiting waves at high speed like they are not . Can you give us a closer look of your boat and the technic you use ? There are many in the net telling setups ,but the true only by you. Thank you .

Christian,

The boat is my own design based loosely on the Raptor Rigger by Brian Buaas. The rudder assembly is from Chris Woods running a kitchen knife. The strut is from Lenny Blake at Rum Racing products with special bushings. 3/16" square drive system with flex cable, mostly Octura parts. I machined and broached my own motor couplers to adapt the 8mm shaft to square cable. Motor is a Lehner 22 series Hi-Amp. I will not say what exact wind or length used. Controller is a Schulze 40.160wk and I used a set of SLS V2 Magnum 10S 5Ah lipos. The prop is a stainless recasting from an existing two blade prop (I am not saying which one) that was cut down, profiled and thinned to a reasonable level but not too much so it had some strength. The sponsons are a very simple JAE like design with a flat ride pad (the width and angle I will not say).

This is the 6th iteration of this hull design. The tub and sponsons are legal in Q, S and T classes.
