andy,

a 10x10 bend leg does have less shade then a staight leg 10x10

was at sports authority and they had them side by side and the canopy material is about 1 foot less all the way around.you could stick the bend leg inside the staight leg and it would not touch.

the bend leg has 81 sqr feet of shade and the staight leg has 100 sqr feet of shade.

WAL MART HAD A 12X12 STRAIGHT LEG VENT TOP FOR 60. LAST WEEK.

I SHUOLD HAVE BOUGHT IT AND SOLD MY 10 X10 PAID SAME PRICE FOR.

WASNT THINKING AT THE MOMENT, JUST LOOKING WHILE WIFE WAS SHOPING <_<

Rigged, I saw what you guys paid to rent that big canopy! I could have bought several pop-ups for what it cost you! $$$$$

There's also some of the canopies out now with side walls that you can raise horizontally for more shade if you have the room at race sites.

Yeah, the one the Corbin family owns was messed up and didnt find out til a week before the race. Being a big event, with our entire team all together...we wanted big and 'spacey' area without everyone having to bring canopys. We had like 20-25 boats under there.

I wish I had asked before I got mine from Lowes. I will look for those features John and Walt suggested.

I have the slanted legs and would not buy that kind again. I have already gone thru 5 legs.

Also if you have the legs staked down and want to lower the tent its almost impossible without bending something.

The stright leg shelters work the best, as they do not cross over in the next shelter and you can tie onto the next shelter to keep the wind from blowing it over with double stake downs

I totally agree but also for another reason. The straight legs units seem to have stronger and thicker legs than the slanted ones. I had one slant leg unit and a light storm turned it into pretzels. The same storm did not affect the straight leg ones. Pay attention to that feature. In addition, you can get wind panels for the straight units easier and they work better too.

It only takes a few seconds to pull the stakes and restake after dropping the roof. For a one day event, slanted legs aren't a problem unless you make it one yourself. We had slanted and straight legged roofs side by side with no issues two weeks ago, not a problem. In fact, the only roofs that had a problem were straight legged units that blew over due to high winds during the night. My slant legged unit was unaffected by the wind and just needed to be raised and restaked the next morning

one thing to keep in mind on tents is being able to get parts.

we bought a 10 x 20 from northern tool.. nice tent vented top BUT. you can't get replacement parts for it. so if it goes it is toast.

as for e-z up. there is two versions.. e-z up that sells on there web site is USA then the ones in stores are made overseas.

I will never buy another 75.00 tent ever again , they are shiot !!! The real deal EZ Up tents are whre I'm headed next . The big tech update is the EZ UP has transverse braces that stop the sides from caving in under 40 - 50 mph winds which are very common in FL in the summer when these Micro burst storms blow up . I've bought 5- 75.00 tents in the last 4 years and they are totally GHETTO now !!! Sometimes you truly get what you paid for !! :D :D
