Just ensure you have enough ventilation and may be coat the inside of boat with aluminum tape to reflect the heat. Usually yu are ok if you have half an inch between pipe and side walls / deck. The bottom is not very critical as it is water cooled.

I would have invested in a small multimeter to check if the coils indeed are bad. You can measure their resistance and by doing so you can see if they are still ok or not. Don't know by heart the exact values, but I thinkthey are mentioned in teh zenoah manual.

I would save a bit more $$ and buy a well taken care of second hand. Go visit a local club were you can see what runs and what doesn't.

Carl, would it be worthwhile to find out what laser your cutting services had / is using? Obviously you were content about their quality, it is for other reasons you decide to do this in house yourself.

Sorry for the late reply: it depends how you measure: you can measure in riding attitude, or you can measure the angle of the bottom compared the truss. I measure around 4 degrees ( which is quite shallow).
