If you read my first note I threw in a brand new spare set of sponsons which all then came to $800 plus shipping, so I lowered my price by $50 but shipping still applies. Last I heard shipping is just short of $100 to see that done. To accept $700 shipped your asking me to eat $200, that’s a...
I have this SG that I have kept on the shelf for a couple years, kind of sentimental about it, I’ve won more races with it than any other boat I’ve owned. I would sell it for $700 US plus shipping without motor and pipe. Other than that it’s complete and ready to go, put your motor, pipe and...
I definitely do not have a dog in this fight but do know this to be true, it is possible to have completely opposing views on a topic and have candid and respectful discussion about it and in such away that everyone’s integrity and wellbeing is preserved. I have experienced this to be...
Hi Al, sometime this past year I stumbled upon a brand new K45, I should pick up some replacement parts from you, will all your new parts fit into the original K45 case? All except the crank which you say is longer than the original.
Thanks Al
Like so many have stated, the 2014 is a unicorn that few will part with but I would widen your shopping list a bit, all my Eagles are “old” refurbished SG’s who by all accounts should not be competitive but I would never part with them. It’s all in your set up and tuning that makes them a...
Walt Barney Tanks 4U will built you any size and shape of tank you need and will place the inlet and outlet tubes exactly where you need them. Walt’s tanks are perfect and made to your specifications, have dozens of custom tanks made by him and their fit and function has been perfect.
Have watched others battle the same issue, did myself for only one test session and then made the best decision any RC boater can make, toss those leaky plastic tanks in the trash and retro fit a high quality custom stainless tank in their place and you will have eliminated 99% of your...
That can be fixed, peel the skin off, get it on a jig or flat table and re-skin it with weight on it, then your off to the races with a true and square hull! Might need to encourage someone to take on the overhaul challenge but it’s doable.!
My go to hardware list would be as follows:
1). Speedmaster struts and rudder
2) Ferrette needle bases and OS needles
3) Walt tanks
4) Goodwind Composites for your favorite boom sizes and types
5) Mike Hughes for a turn fin
6) Motor mounts, need to fabricate those on your own, rubber grommets...
You know, all this talk of the demise of our hobby serves to cause no end of anxiety for many and the rabbit trails it leads all down do nothing good for anyones well being or future outlook. I myself have pondered the length of the future for our hobby and it’s a dark place. A friend reminded...
Hi Tom, I see your response to Alan and your desire to sell as a lot but if you decide to split it up I would take a new 45, the new piston, conrod, crank, head button and some shims. I miss my old K45, it was a strong competitive motor that simply wore out.
