    RTR Sport

Chris, I am bringing a ready to run to Hobart. Does D14 allow opening up the cowl for better air flow, a Grim turn fin, any rudder mods, a larger fuel tank? It is my feeling the Duece has to qualify for stock RTR and any Vegas can be upgraded. We must all remember this is a ready to run class...

    RTR race in Wisconsin

TCMBC will be adding a RTR class to it's club race at Ricks Hobby Farm. In an effort to promote the class and new boaters their will be no club to join and no entry fee. You race for free! Ricks is located 3 miles south of New Richmond Wisconsin on Highway 65. The drivers meeting is at 9am...

WCRA Race # 1 at Brandon

Thanks guys, I did mean the drive dog. My sport 20 would not be legal as the strut is attached to the transom (IMPBA legal) I do have a 20 tunnel so that would have to make the trip. It's a long shot right now but here's hoping. Bill

WCRA Race # 1 at Brandon

Hi, I'm from Minnesota and if all the stars line up and the creek doesn't rise I may make the Tampa race. I have two questions. Can you remove the wing on a vegas and still run ready to run class. Also, does NAMBA still require the prop hub to be under the boat in sport 20? Thanks Bill...

    Twin Cities boaters

The Twin Cities race will be a club race. That means you will not have to be a member of IMPBA or the club to race. 3 boats will make a class. That includes ready to runs if we can get three and I know of at least 4. Your cats may be able to run in an open class. It would be great if you...

    Anyone running a CMB .45 O/B engine?

Hi guys. In answer to a couple of questions. The set up is Irwin all the way with the Lawless foot. I bought it at the Nats from a guy that has had it for awhile and never used it. I had been using an H7 on a Rossi on the Lee Craft. Not a bad combo but I couldn't resist the CMB or the price...

    Anyone running a CMB .45 O/B engine?

I just picked up an Irwin CMB outboard a week ago. Never run yet. Where is a good starting point for a prop. Will be running it on a Lee Craft or Dunlap wood over foam. Both boats sitting their I just need to pick which one gets the new iron. Thanks Bill

    Ninja VS. Hawk

Here is my take on this subject. I am just a racer not a tech. guy and a poor builder. I had a Hawk made by Mike Z to to Hawk specs. Throw it in the water with a Nova Rossi and it was about a 55mph boat. Got a Ninja threw it in the water with the same engine and prop and it was a 64 mph...

What do you do for a living? Other Hobbys?

My name is Bill Wachtler and I am old enough to remember racing with Hap Mulveny back in the 50's. I am 60 years old and have been married to my wife Chris for 38 years. We have three children and four grandchildren. When I quit racing the outboards on went on to midget and sprint car racing...

    Scale Looking Tunnel boats

Stand off scale would be great. It has to look like a real tunnel in appearance along with sponsor etc. It however does not have to match the exact lines nor all the details. We have a lot of craftsman in the hobby but low and behold, I am not one of them ( Mike can attest to that ) and a...

    Lets do some comparisons

My two cents is once you get a good needle and a good set up you are set to start practicing. If a driver practices getting on the clock and knowing where he and his competetors are and practices running on the bouy's instead of fifty feet off of them, or ten feet off them for that matter, the...

    Boca ceramic bearings

Snowdog. I would be a little careful with the ceramics. I have run them for several years in my OS outboard and my RZ. I have also put new ones in each year. I never had any trouble with the OS engines but I can't get them to live through a gallon of fuel in a Nova Rossi. I have two of them...

    .21 quiet pipes

Hi Rick. Thanks. I was a little confused at first but if I read it right you are at about 7 1/2 inches from the plug to the weld at the high point of the pipe? If my memory is right I think I bought a Rossi 3.5 outboard power head from you. Excellent engine although I only ran it a couple of...
