My driver finally got a shirt on, but I have the life jacket ties messed up. I have the new Miss Charlevoix decals and the U-47 decals ready for the boat. I’ll put those on this afternoon. Then I need to paint the cowling with some gloss white paint, and make a vinyl piece to make the front of the cowl insert blend with the front of the boat. More pics later.

I painted the cowling tonight. Just a jet white rattle can job. It came out ok, not great. Put the U-47 number on one sponson, and they look pretty good. I put the cowling back on the boat after about 1/2 hour of drying, then followed my primary rule……after a glue or paint job, I leave the basement for 24 hrs and allow things to dry undisturbed. Think I’ll change the Miss Charlevoix to red/white combo……and the outer cockpit of the cowling can also be red, and the inside of the cockpit will be flat black.

I took the first Miss Charlevoix vinyl decals off cuz they were just a bit too large. The wife reprinted them, along with more U-47 decals. Got those on, and started to size up this American flag decal for the nose. Tomorrow I’ll get the bottom sprayed with clear.

Thanks Rich! I think it’s ok for my first boat and limited painting skills. A little clear today on the bottom of the hull, and I’ll be ready to put all of the hardware on and buy some fuel!
I should re-route my gas line from my bag to the motor…..mine goes through the longitudinal bulkhead and then back thru to the bottom of the carb. I saw another build where the line went under the engine to the carb…..much shorter route so probably a better way to go.
Started work on a windshield yesterday. We will see how it came out this morning….

Ha! Go figure!
Flipped her over and shot a little clear on the bottom of the hull. Not too many drips…..
Looks like the window cut out might work. More on this later.
