this is the second time reading through these articles and I always feel drained after. Its so much information. I really don't see why the larger thicker top plate sleeve is not standard practice.

The last gizmo motor I had was acting the exact same way then it did this. Ended up being the upper rod bearing failing. I know you said the bearings where new and in good shape but figured I'd share in case it helps.

That is from porting the transfers too thin. Follow the crack you will see places the metal wasn't .005" thick and a crack starts there and works it's way around.

See many dozens blown apart caused by a worthless cnc program that is destroying the cylinders needlessly.

You do not have to cut any of that so thin for any reason to get flow through the transfers.

the walls of the exhaust side transfers on 36mm bores are paper thin even when stock.
