In my opinion electric conversions make much more sense for nitro boats. if you look up the 2 lap records gas riggers are just as fast as electric. its all within a half second or so. its far cheaper to run gas, the fun factor is way higher, and a gas engine with mount and fuel still weighs less than just a set of 12s batteries alone not counting a huge motor and esc.

The Lehner outrunner is a really nice option as the motor is compact for it's power and can swing gas size props so it's one of the best conversion motors from a gas engine. They also sound very cool. I have a twin 8S electric rigger with a pair of the Lehner 4140 outrunners which is awfully quick.
