I'm not really sure on the strut Dave. But I sure could use Christy's phone number so I could find out what's going on with my flow meter gauge. Tried him several times via email and pm's but can't seem to get a response. If you could send me his phone number I'd really appreciate it. Somehow I can't find the sent or received messages section.

Thanks, Ron

From what I have read in a past thread, it does not matter. You just need to get the strut as low as possible. The bottom front of the strut should be resting on the back edge of the ski. You should find a diagram if you do a search.

Hi Ron J

Brad Christy Phone No. is 1-937-859-0858 home.Cell No.1-937-545-8991

Hi Dave,

With the large ski, it dose not matter. I have tried both with no noticeable difference.

I would run the strut at least 2.250 from the stern.

Kentley, Do you want the rear of the strut at 2.25 ? The struts I make for the .12 are 1.75 but will also fit the .21 so I was going to test it at that length. Does it make that much difference as long as you get as low as possible?

Jim to be honest I dont know. I am sure that 1.75 will be fine. The 2.25 is what I have been running from day one. Just like to keep the prop in clean water.

KP,

The measurement of 2.25 you note, it is that from the front of the strut or the rear (prop end). A pic would be most helpful too, you have my e mail addy. I just got the boat in from Zipp.

KP, I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that my strut design was at 2.25, they are at 2.75 . I made it at that length to avoid interference with the rudder and to keep in clean water as you said. Total brain fart on my part.

Thanks for the kind words guys I really appreciate it. I will be offering a lite weight version made out of Delrin and some other similar materials for the FE boats. I am going to need someone with a FE to do some testing for me since I am strictly a nitro guy , if any one is interested let me know.
