I'm building a Zippkit Envy to race this season. It will be powered by a CMB Alpha 27. Below are some pictures.

An excellent kit from Zippkits, I think one of their best they have made , and looks great with the alpha engine,

great build

The Alpha is such a nice looking engine. Looking forward to hearing how this performs in the Envy. I like the look of this kit as well. Good combination. Best of luck with the build.

Neil.

Thanks guys!

They are 40 S&W bullets.

I finished a custom engine mount. This 2-piece mount allows me to move the engine forward and back if I need to change the CG.

Craig I am courious how much of pound for gas engine? thanks
I can't find my notes right now but remember it weighing as much (if not more) than TWO CMB 1.01's.

Really heavy over 2lbs? Oh S--t! If Jae "gas " break half tub off then go to sink down " engine gone " so will be cry loss money$$$$ Must get good high quality rigger expensive like" SGX," etc.. than JAE cheap Reason rigger long tub than JAE short tub Good Luck!

Allan........ I run a JAE with the CMB Alpha 27cc. Don't worry the JAE is as strong as any other rigger out there. Plus if the unfortunate happens and it does snap in half there is plenty of floatation to keep both halves afloat...... the only way you would lose the motor is if the boat snaps in half and also both front sponsons break off....... now I reckon that the only way for that to happen is if it slammed into the bank at full noise, if that happened you would be able to get ya sunken motor at the banks edge lol.

So I have a gallon of fuel through the CMB Alpha and the Envy and all is going well. The Envy handles just like my JAE 45 and 21 so I should be at home racing this boat.

So far top speed is 69.4 mph with a stock ABC 2916 - 20 degree rake prop. I have tried many other modded props borrowed from friends, but that's the best so far. I'm running a Zippkit pipe at a length of 12.25" measured from the exhaust flange to the widest point on the pipe. No tach yet, so I have no idea what rpm's I'm at. I'm looking for another 5 mph. I have not leaned on the engine yet. I'm a little nervous to do that. I'm running 16 oz. of Klotz Super Techniplate oil to 1 gallon of 100LL.

I'm running square drive with the Zipp strut, so I am playing with different low profile thrust washers. The teflon washers that I have been using mushroomed bad after 1 gallon of fuel, so I might try something else, but replacing every so often is no big deal. The Zipp strut is not designed for the thrust loads. It moves on me no matter how tight the bolt is, but I have an idea to fix that. I'll share later.
