Power Surge Racing Products introduces a Auto Start CD. This master edited CD is very, very accurate and super clear.

Just think its always cued up and ready to go. You can order hassle free right on line a www.grimracer.com

You will find the CD in the Hardware page.

our club has one of those...it's funny at first hearing the club guy say "alright, y'all are on the clock" and then a second later hearing the CD guy announcing it like a sports announcer or something. kinda gets annoying after the first couple of heats, and by the end ya wanna go bust the laptop into little cheerio-sized peices.

i'm sure Power Surge's is more than a little better though, and they really help with timing. all you do is press play and it's all taken care of.

I didn't read the posting right the first time so I deleted it. Basically what it does is count down the time until the start of the race. It works better than trying to watch the clock especially if you or your pit person doesn't know how to read it. With this set-up, it is easier for the driver himself (or herself) to judge the start better knowing whether to speed up or slow down to hit the line when it hits zero. The Ford Model Boat Club used one last year and I liked it a lot better! Their's has the choice of a Male or Female voice to call the start, racers seemed to like the Female voice more. Once you've used the CD, you don't want to go back to a clock. They still have the clock in the middle of the course, a digital one by the way which is very nice but pricy too.

A clock, wow! Old school. But your right that the countdown gets really annoying. But it works great. I can see all these guys riding in their car playing this CD and rocking out to it! LOL

Hey Grim, M&M better watchout for this multi-platnum selling CD. LOL :D ;D

I heard rendition of Power Surge Racing/The Model Shops: “On The Clock” CD last weekend; it’s outstanding. With his cheap boom box that has taken a drink in our pond, it was very crisp, load, and clear. Just what you'd expect from a CD. There is only one track on the CD so once it’s finished its immediately ready for another heat. [flash=200,200]http://Pretty Sweet!

mike, is this a custom made one or the standard one we always hear in our district?

Tom

It is custom made.. The reason I did this is that we lose the southern accent.. I mean its OK but not a huge problem (sorry my southern friends) (IM I HUGE SOUTHERN ROCK FAN,,GET ME IN A KARIROKE BAR AND I WILL PROVE IT) ...key word BAR...

Also it was my task for our club to buy a tape. This was a bummer because I could not easily buy it on line. We need easy to get!!
