I'm in need of some LARGE pipe coupler material. I need the big stuff for the .90/1.00 pipes.

It would be sweet to find some of the thin walled teflon stuff.

What do you guys got or use?

That's what I've been looking for! Now Do I want Virgin Molded Teflon or just Virgin Teflon? What is the differance? :blink:

You will want the 1/8 wall thickness with the highest temp rating you can get. Put it on with a plumbers torch after you bevel all of the ends with a dremel.

guys,

does this stuff work THAT good.. i have never used it but might want to try it.

let me know

Chris, I have had the same piece in my scale for three years. and you know how hot they get inside. heck, you may never change it in your rigger. Ken

No problem Chris, always willing to share some info. ;)

With the small stuff I use on the 21's and 45's I made a "drift pin" or "bull pin" out of steel that I use to heat and stretch the PTFE material until it fits the pipe. If you over stretch it you will not have a very good seal. Cinch it down with safety wire and your good to go.

Cut the safety wire and remove if needed after all it is Teflon so it won't stick. :lol:

-Buck- I take a Hacksaw & etch up the pipe where the coupler rides Left angle on the header, Right angle on the pipe. When the coupler heats up & Bites ON. It will take a good size knife to cut it off. If you need to make the pipe longer or shorter while running you can take a rag & screw it apart longer or shorter Works like threads ... :D ... Heat the coupler up & push it into the stinger area of pipe (diverter cone) to flare it out for easy installing. :rolleyes:
