John had a 67 boat that got T-boned at the Nats one year. It was so bad that the tub was Broke into four major parts and it sank to the bottom.

Luckily the lake was not deep (Huntsville) and we retrieved the boat. Or I should say, the engine, radio and lots of wood!

The sides and bottom were broken into several pieces.

Amazingly John with the help of others and lot of CA got it back together and he made the next heat.

I remember that heat very well. I was the swimmer (wader) that found it for John, as I was working the race, and not running at that Internats. As I recall, Stu was driving the boat that nailed John at the entrance to Bouy 1; the result of 2 boats heading for bouy 1 at different angles. I've waded at Huntsville many times. The race course area of the pond is only about 5' deep at the most. Many a mono has been stuck in the mud of that pond.

Yup, I was there for that one too, I believe that was '99? The thing I'll never forget is that crack of wood that seemed so loud when it happened .................

Send that boat down to John. After watching him fix that SG in Huntsville I'm sure he can save yours. :D

I am in the process of repairing it. But I just got back to work after 5 weeks off due to surgery to repair a torn triceps. So time is one thing I'm short on. I race in two weeks and won't have time to paint or test . I may just have to run my old Jag. :(
