I used the Bob Violet mixture controls for years.. I started using the Kalistratov Needle assemblies and they are way better. Much easier to use, not as bulky and you use a 1/4" wrench to adjust instead of trying to grab a grooved head to turn.

The Kalistratov needles come in coarse and fine threads, the coarse being for 45 and larger engines. These units are much cheaper than the BVM units.

I'd highly recommend listening to STU on this one and trying out the K-Needle...

Make sure two type: K-3rd remote "Fine" for .21 to .45

K-3rd remote " Coarse" for .67 to up

Actually the Kalistratov/CMD "fine" needle works on the big motors too, just a tighter adjustment range. ;)
