Give him a try - good guy to deal with.

Hi! Used Black carb, ready to go, $25. used Gold carb, Ready to go,$28. New in the package Red carb, $32. new in the package Purple carb, $45. Shipping on any of them, $4.

Geez, I was gonna give my black carb away for $10 plus $3.85 shipping but after seeing Foolwitools prices maybe I should re-evaluate 'em. LOL As for the Purple carb, no where as good as the red.

Aren't the Red and the Purple carb the same?

K&B Carburetor (Red) (.345 inlet) (Neck dia .437) Purple has been sold

Dave

Hi! Yes, Red and purple are the identical same carb. K&B just anodized them purple for a short time. They're kind of a collector item. The one i have is new and unmounted........... As far as the black carb goes, Its been disassembled, hot tanked, the barrel has been buffed and it turns as smooth as melting ice cream. I hate sticky carbs!! If you don't like $25, Make me an offer..............Fools can be dealt with!

Here is the specs I got on K&B,

Black .265

Gold old .308

Gold 94 on .312

Purple .340

Red .345

Gene ;D

hey Gary Look........

there is a difference...... ;D

I thought I was going crazy for a while there

I knew at some pont that I had miked a red and a purple and came up with different throats

Hey!! I'd be a Fool to think I know it all!!! But i did check. The smooth end of an 11/32 drill bit will slide easily into the barrel of a red carb. Won't go at all into the purple........I have a friend who has been a K&B dealer since dirt was new. he is the source of my mis-information. I'll have to rub his nose in this one............ Live and learn, crash and burn, flip over in an up-wind turn, and all that...... Besides, Size isn't supposed to matter..........

The beauty of the black carb is it easily can be enlarged to a red barrell size. The Purple is one of those Taboo like items, worth owning for show or for conversation starters. LOL ;D

Not a bad runner either.

Hi Everybody

K&B say that the red and purple carb are the same except for colour, the two versions of the Gold carb are supposed to be the same bore but one has a stop screw and one doesn't. The 0.005thou difference in bore could be manufacturing tolerence (read sloppy machinery) and it's even possible that all black/red/gold/purple carbs from different batches have different bores. Who knows precisely - I doubt K&B do.

As long as it's at a good price and works who cares. : :)

just my 0.02c (or is that 0.025c)

GT ;D

Talk about MFG. Tolerance.....I have a purple carb here that measures .340" in one direction and .342" on the axis through the needle. It may be out of round.....but it runs great on a rossi
