Are you sure the dates right? :( :(

Don,

We ran out of time last year. We are trying to race the most popular classes at the event. I know that Thunderboat is growing but entrants were extremely low last year along with B mono, which we have also dropped this year. We have added .21 rigger based upon the number of guys in D14 that have recently built/purchased this size hull. We also split Gas class into two different one as well. Hopefully we are making the right decisions. But it is always a work in progress. It is a tough decision between keeping the race 1 day versus 2. More gas classes versus more nitro classes. We are just trying to find the right balance for our location. We are a little different than Evansville due to our closer proximity to the Ohio guys who are definitely more Gas oriented. Ultimately our race may end up two days in the future with Gas one day and Nitro a different day. But we have to start drawing more of the gas drivers before this can happen. I know personally I like the one day races. If we offered essentially two one day races like Michigan does (nitro day one and gas day two) then you can choose to stay both days and are not forced to stay both. But that is all in the future and we will see how this year pans out first.

Enough thinking for now.

Chris

Family First right? But aren't your fellow boaters your family? When you go to your son's graduation at Purdue that day how many people will you know? But if you came to our race how many more would you know? I am not telling you what to do, but you will have more "family" at our event :p . You know I am kidding! It's awesome that your son is going to be a Purdue Grad. Your wife must be the brain's in the family; Purdue is a tough curriculum. There will always be another Wine Run (I hope).

Chris, no thunderboat??? There are 5 thunderboats coming out of Madison alone. Plus another 4-5 out of Cincinnati. It is the biggest growing class across the country are you sure you do not want to run them? There is a East Vs. West series between the Madison club and Cincinnati that has a sponsor by FibreGlast that the thunderboat's are the main class. So Don bring that thunderboat over to Madison and Cincinnati for some racing this year it is a 4 point race series.

Don

I will bring it for the July 4th race, if it survies Atlanta. I don't know about the other races yet.

I think Phil Thomas is building one also. I wish Chris was running them at the winery. Since they ran them last year I thought sure they would do it this year. I think there are more Thunderboats out there than new B-Hydros that Chris talked about. What are the dates of the other races?

DonB

Boys,

If Thunderboat is going to have a turnout like you say then I will add it to the list. From posts elsewhere it looked like the Madison guys were heading to Michigan for a race on our race weekend. We will just have to make sure we have enough entries. 4 boats makes a class and then we will run them. We appear to have another recovery boat for this season as well. So we will probably be running two recovery boats and then keep the heats turning over quickly.

Look forward to seeing all those thunder boats run.

Chris, As far as I know the MADISON CLUB WILL be @ your race. There is a race in Michigan at the G.M tech center on your race date. But due to the DITO dates we will be @ the Wine race with alot of boats in hand. I know of 3 NEW Thunderboats from the Madison club alone for 2009 season. Mike Bird, Dale Douglas and myself all have Thunderboat started. Don Mckay already has 2 and I will be also buiding one more very soon for my brother-in-law to run. So SEE ya on race day AND BRING YOUR DOUBLE A GAME FOR 2009 Dist-14 race season :p !! Doug Shepherd Madison, In

Doug,

Is the Tech Center race part of the D-2/14 three race mini series for scale?? Or is the final race for that series going to be Spencer Park race? Maybe no series at all??

The Gold Cup race will be the final race of the series at Spencer Park. I am working all the final details out and will make a post very shortly Thanks Doug

It is my understanding from talking with Brian Blazer a couple of weeks back, that the Cincy race is the weekend after the Internats. Believe this is the same weekend as the Wine race.. Might put a dampner on the Thunderboats and other classes also. Sure was looking forward for some more tasty trophys.

Mark, I have the Cincy race penciled in for the weekend of July 18th. That would be the weekend before the Internats. I've had that down for a while and I don't remember where I got that date from. Maybe Brian or someone will jump in and straighten us out. Mike

Mike,

Think you are right. The D2 race schedule thread has it on July 18/19.. That sucks as it's my weekend on. Might as well burn some vacation time.

See ya soon..

I just tried to get on the propnuts site to register my Thunderboat and others boats like I said I would after Atlanta but it keeps coming up site not found. I tried google and I got the same responce.

Thanks, site worked with the link. I tried to type it in again and it still comes up site not found. My wife told it has happened to her a few times on other sites. She call our service provider and they told her they are having server issues.
