Which prop would be good to start with for a Nova Rossi 21 in a Wild Thing mono? I need a generally good prop. This is for my wife’s boat, & she is a novice, so it doesn’t need to tap all the potential of the engine.

Octura X440/3. If you need some others to try out, I have some that we can try at the Fun Run. The same prop that I used on my NR before it blew and Dave Homer uses on the WT with a CMB Greenhead.

Hello Wade,

I use a 440/3   It`s the prop to use.

Wade,

They work real well (X-440/3). We have needed to pitch them up a little

because of the N/R torque, but for your wife's boat stock should work real

well, until she wants to go RACING    . We have had real good

success with a Barr-cut on the trailing edge, and 3.48" of cup.

Thanks,

Mark, if she ever wants to go race, I'll have you make me up one then! Just a balance & sharpen, I can handle, but not mods.

I am goin to order my stuff right after I eat my lunch. :p

Wade,

Pay close attention to the trailing edge to get it sharp and square to the face

of the propeller. The leading edge needs to be thinned and blended into the

back of the propeller also. These are the few of the areas that most people

miss when they do their own work. The balance is also critical, so spend

some time on it, and get it the best that you can. You will see why I charge

$25.00 to work a three bladed propeller. Good Luck! :) Back to work in the

Propeller Shop, there is no time to relax when I have (36) propellers ready

to work on.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Wade, If your going to get a 3 blade, PAY to get it B/S Them little ones seem to be a pain to get into balance, OCTURAs Expecially.

Tom

Mark, thanks for the advice!! I'll print that out so I will have it when I S&B the prop. I ordered it today along with some other hardware.

Tom, I have thought about it, but I want to do at least one 3 blade just to say that I have, & since this is my wife's boat, it doesn't have to perform like a race boat :D If I was setting it up for me, I would defiantly have mark do one up for me!

Wade,

I will be happy to re-balance your propeller if you want, after you get done with

it? I have three really nice balancers and I use them all. If you send it to me

when you are done, I will check the balance and ship it back to you for postage.

What kind of tools do you use by the way?

Thanks,

Mark Sholund
