Building 3 new boats and was just wondering what the fast guys boats are weighing in at? Also what motor/boat combo you running? curious about b,c,x hydro's and sp40-2 and scale hydro's. Thanks.

Hi Mike

I've been building riggers for saw ( only .45 size) to suit .67&80and 90/100 engines.

Final weight on both classes is from 5 1/2 to 6 1/4 pounds depending the powerhouse..

Weight in saw boats must be kept as low as possible and using good matherials like carbon fiber and kevlar I 've been ending up with very strong boats with good lasting.

My new .80 rigger ready to run is about of 4 3/4 pounds made of carbon/kevlar.I'm also using micro servos for throthle and 3rd channel and minipack of Nimh to save oz's.

I'm sure we can reduce this weight and heard that Andy's 80 record holder just weighted 1,4 kgs not sure!

Good weight for a 21 rigger.

Thanks, I was thinking my .67 rigger was light at 7lbs. for heat racing. guess I got some fat that needs trimming. . how bout the rest of you, what are your boats weighing in at? Thanks again.

7 pounds for an oval racer is OK. I wouldn't go too overboard trying to reduce it! If it was for SAW it would be a different story.

Mike here's my spec's

21 saw boat 2.35 pounds

67 saw boat 5 pounds

21 oval race boat 3 pounds

45 oval race boat 5 pounds

67 oval race boat 6.7 pounds

twin 80 oval race boat nearly finished should way about 10 pounds. :D :D :D :D
