VAC is the older cantilever style crank motor with drum valve induction

V5 is the newest and current cantiliver style crank motor with drum valve induction

The EVO motors have what is called a Zimmerman valve which has been used for a long time also. Both technologies have been around a long time. I prefer the VAC only because you have have to go thru the exhaust to take the EVO engine apart, a lot like a proctologist. LOL

Thanks everyone, I have both the VAC and V5 was going to order a EVO for a new 45 boat I plan on building later this winter, I am very happy with my VAC motors, have not ran the V5 yet so the verdict is not in on that motor yet.
