VERY COOL

Andy

so who's going to be the first to get their boat done that way? Assuming it hasn't been done already...

I remember like 20 or so years ago there were Easter egg coloring kits which worked just like that. 'cept the results never came out that good.

Would be cool on a hull- wondering what different type of surfaces they can do and how durable the finish is ??

I'm trying to find some better shots of it but that's the only one I had handy at the moment. I'm in the midst of swapping files onto a new tower.

The print is made to be tough as a lot of it is used for Camo on firearms, bow and other hunting gear. There's a huge variety of pre-printed graphics that you can choose from; woodgrain, carbon fiber, tribal, skulls, stone and others to pick from. It would be hard to do something custom though as it would be very hard to get it right on the first try. It's upside though that it can do compound curves easily.

I went with the tie-dye look for 2 reasons; one, my wife likes it and secondly it makes the boat very visible on the water. That boat is gone now from my collection as Rick Reisinger now owns it.

I was watching an episode of Orange County Choppers over the holidays and they were having a fuel tank custom painted this way, really looks like the future wave for some applications, just like 3D printing.

can also be done with paint on the water. not much control over the patterns, but some really cool effects with multiple colors.
