I have the Castle Baracuda 80 with the cooling plates and now need to water proof it. How and what to use is the question.

I know that is what they say, but I flipped in practice and had to dry it out and it was iffy if I was going to make the 1st heat. I was wondering if there was that could be done to keep the water out. Thanks, Ron

The only place that water can affect is the plug between the radio board and the ESC.

Cut the shrink wrap off.

Unplug radio board from top of ESC.

Spray Corrosion Block or use Dielectric grease on the plug.

Plug radio board back in.

Shrink wrap ESC.

DONE.

I see that Tower has them (Castle Baracuda 80) and it says they are not water proof. Is this a miss print or for real?

I think they mean splashproof. Put one under water one and connect it....NO DON'T.

Maybe the newest Castle ESC (Hydra) may be closer but I doubt it. Keep it dry as much as you can.

There is a conformal coating that OSE sells that works very well for ESC and radio. RC Hydroes uses it and his were about the most water proof ever made.

Most likely anything like this put on the ESC will void the warranty...reason....they can't get back in to it without a lot of work and cutting the coating away.
