I have an older CMB 45 with the stub shaft in the front of the crank. It is broken and I have not been able to find one anywhere. The rest of the motor is in great shape so am interested in buying a stub shaft.

If I remember correctly that is a 5mm shaft.

Go to your local hardware store and buy a metric 5MM screw about 2" long and cut it off to the proper length with a Dremel cut-off wheel.

Take the motor with you and get the right size thread.

I have done this several times and it works well. ;)

The one that broke off was 5 mm on one end and 1/4 on the other. Does anyone make a coolet for a 5 mm shaft?
