Guys,

I'm buying a Rossi engine, this years version that is slightly used from a club member. However, I'm not getting the header so does anyone have an extra they can spare for a good price?

I have a brand new CVEC header and pipe for a .21 that looks like it'll fit. Any truth to that??? Could save me some money.

Most of the .21 headers are pretty close in size. I'm using a Nova Rossi header on my boat but it's a tight fit. The Rossi pipe stuck out too far for my liking, i.e., a wider bend. Check your LHS for a .21 buggy pipe, they are cheap.

rcb2,

good luck finding one cheap, there's a ton of headers on tower but for some frustrating reason tower refuses to list the dia. of them which makes it impossible to find one that fits for an NR. i ordered one from PlanetHobby [which just ferries the order to rossisales/speedmaster at no cost, advantage is it has online ordering] yesterday for 28 bucks, i'll let you know how it is if you want. what boat is this engine going in?

Joe

Lax,

It's going in a custom made wooden .21 hydro. The original owner ran a front header like the NR so I know the pipe will fit under the cowl.

Here's a pix. It's dusty right now but all it needs is a good wax job and I'm set. Got it ready to run w/servos, etc...no motor but aluminum motor mount and fuel tank for $50. Awesome deal.

See it pays to be really nice to people and they don't mind doing you nice favors.

that's very true!!

just about everyone involved in rc boat racing is nice, and most would rather sell thier old boats for a steal to someone they know in their club then for a better price on ebay. does your engine have a frontal exhaust port??

mine [a REX .21, slight variant on the NR design] has a rear one, the speedmaster header is a 180 degree roundport one held with springs. boat looks nice, we dont have a single hydro that i know of at my club other than the riggers, mostly because all the hydro racers are really competetive and know theyd be at a disadvantage.

the only exception is my friend Mike's gas cat which he races against the 80 riggers with!! they fly by him every straight, but so many of them flip out that he's leading the class in points!

Joe

Joe,

I'm buying a NR motor for $200 it's been used a couple times but it's the newer one, the silver head. It's more than I want to pay but cheaper than anything new.
