Walbro pop off pressure

Working on some old carbs that don’t work my understanding is the lower pop off pressure makes the carb run rich and the higher makes it more lean.I have a lot of carb parts in a kit when you replace a Welch plug do you use some kind of sealer or just stake it in?

If its the brass plug you just push it in, if it's the saucer plug you have to hit it and flatten it out to get it to tighten up.
