Jeff,
I thought what you posted about my carbon twin was pretty funny. After a long weekend my twin did in fact get hit three times. I slung a blade which vibrated, broke the strut and then took out the rudder and the second prop. In another heat I hit a turtle which kicked up my rudder and took out another set of props. In another heat I again hit a turtle which launched the boat in the air followed by the Roadrunner hit. This hit took out the wood sponsons but also took a direct hit to the side from the Roadrunner turn fin which caused no damage. In the Shootout I again either hit something or got hit on the first turn. My boat sat in the middle of turn one and again it got hit two more times by the gas twins.
After all this bashing my center section lost the top rear skin (about three inches long) which took all of about two minutes to glue back on. This method of construction has proven to be the ticket for a bullet proof race boat. It is a bit difficult to build but well worth the effort long term. I am now doing the same thing to my sponsons so all that will give will be the boom tubes. Racer beware HAHAHAH
