Did you back out of the throttle before it went in? From what I see most dive when a sudden slowing or backing out of the throttle. This can be cured by adjusting the servo to allow a smoother slowing of the boat. Think of hitting the brakes hard on your car the nose dives release the brake the nose comes back on your car. But on your boat it buries it further by lifting the rear of the boat

I see it caught some air just before it went in, I have the same problem with my .67 Microburst if the water is a little to rough. I know most of my problem is it is set up to loose.

LOL! She did have some mud on her nose. :p

I had the throttle pinned the whole time. It just hit a wake when she dove.

Cool that you caught that on video. While it clearly got air before dunking, it sure wasn't any more than would be typical in rough race water. Thanks for sharing the video!

I will keep my mouth shut.

Then again. My Cal Craft never dunks.

I think it got scared it was going so fast and did a ostrich move.

i stuffed my 42 ducer .90 cmb so hard once that it went 21" into the mud and i had to get the oar and push it from side to side to free it. it just so happens that 5 min before i saw the largest snapping turtle i have ever seen, i was not swimming after that boat!

David your turn is coming havent seen one yet that hast dunked. I had a AC waveslave great rough water boat did the same.

i had andy grenier in the bow of the rescue boat hanging over with his face under water and could not reach it, i would guess 5 feet?. this was at no.1 pond at sanford maine. great race site, one of our sites for namba dist 11

Ya John i remember that one!!! That water tasted like poo... If i remember correctly you had mud in the motor as well.

We dug several mono's out of the mud at the Huntsville pond. That pond is about 5' deep all the way across. Harv's 21 'ducer took several days to come up after one race. Never did find it on Sunday after the race. Popped up on Wednesday or Thursday as I recall.

The funniest/strangest Seadunk that I saw was at a Ford MBC race at Camp Dearborn. The 'dunker went under, popped up and kept on going! While it was under, another boat drove over it missing it completely!

Do you know what causes it? #1 Incorrect boat set up # 2 Incorrect prop or mods. Boat looked Very Wet.. Older Mono hulls were sensitive to set up. Current Seaducer 3 Mono Hulls are Very Good & Easier to tune. Looks like the wake thru the middle of the lake that it Jumped before diving was from a larger Boat?? if this is a Current 45 Boat Design? I would Question the prop or the mods made to it.....

To give you more info on what Jon said.Boat was a SD 2 with a Nova Rossi 21 going wot on the back stretch.Water was smooth as I recall.Boat suddenly disappeared. We dragged the bottom with a chain after the race and could not find it.The following Friday it was still stuck on the botttom.John Equi got a guy to walk the pond bottom and found it stuck in the bottom upright slightly nose down.

As Paul Harvey use to say now the rest of the story. The radio box did not leak. The boat has been sold a number of times. The servos and receiver are still in use.Battery would not recharge.Nova Rossi is in the Sightler that Mark Ward and Tim White run at Evansville and Mount Vernon. The engine ran 2 more years before I changed the bearings.Radio box tape was Scotch that Mark Bullard sells.Switch actuator was DuBro.Boots were from Tidewater supply.

Yeah. The wake it hit was from a ski boat. It is a SD3 with a CMB 45CAM. I have since switched out the 450/3 for a 646/3 and she runs much lighter on the water. She is running 50mph in race trim... not super fast, but she is solid as a rock now and got 1st place at the last Dist 4 race.
