Thinking about picking up a used WII or Nintendo type system- Im not a huge gamer anymore , but would like a little golf /nascar/F1 type stuff. My daughter(7) is gonna be here this summer -so something I can get some games for her as well. Doesnt have to be the latest and greatest- so Im shopping some pawn shops. My question is , with SOOO much used stuff out there- what works decent for what Im looking to do and what to avoid ?

the wii is good for kids.... if you wanna get games for you i recommend getting the classic controller for it....... hard to play bond and nascar stuff with them new fangled contollers.......

I have a WII for my kids and a PS3 for me:) Dont get me wrong the golf and bowling games are a lot of fun on thethe WIIespecially when playing against the kids!!!!!

The WII is definately the way to go for the kids, gets them active and not just sitting on the couch, also have more games for kids, but for adults. XBOX for me. The nascar game is amazing, so amazing you can't really drive it with a controller, much easier with the wheel, and FORZA Motorsports is one of the best racing games I have ever played. Grand Tourismo for the Playstation is also great, but the PS lacks in Nascar.

Its a shame there are no really decent boat racing games avail. That would be the bomb.

They have one boat racing game but it is for playstation ,you choose your type of hull and race you way through 20 races around the world earning money and buying better boats. I think this was out about 5 years ago. You know the Wii is a small computer so you could go to the website that has the virtuall unlimiteds races and the gran prix boats.

The Xbox has one that just came out over the last year or so called Hydro Thunder: Hurricane. It's pretty decent, just more of an arcade game than a realistic sim. They don't sell it in stores though. You have to buy it from the Xbox Live marketplace.

Did the PS 2 at gamestop and got a deal- at least I think-

A refurb unit with a 2yr warranty

6 games

2 controlers and

2 8/gb memory cards

For under 110.00 . I have damn near worn out the NHRA Chase for the Championship game already-pro stock rocks-, and shot a 1 under game at Sawgrass with the Tigar Woods 2010 and my new player B)
