Yes a lifting prop works but what size motor? Direct drive?

the 440 is porb too big...try a 432to 435 for starters.

The monster maxx motors are designed for at least 12V battery systems. A 6-cell stick pack will give you about 7.2V (under load it will drop to about 6V). You need 12 cells in series (end-to-end) to be able to spin the motor fast enough to get the prop to do any work.

Your prop size looks about right, you can probably look around the web to find props that work for 1/12 miss-buds that are converted to electric. Keep in mind the miss-bud has the prop angled down to help lift the transom, the lumar uses a different drive configuration and the prop is not angled down as much.

Put in another 6-cell pack and make a harness that will deliver 12V to the motor.

Also make sure your speed control can handle the higher voltages. I think RC-Hydros and Rum Runner hobbies make total water proof / water cooled ESC that can handle the voltage needed to run a maxx electric motor.

Use some brass tubing or a silicone water clamp to help cool the electric motor (It will get very hot inside the boat without adequate water cooling)

Hope this helps.
