Guys I bought this twin with individual needles and want to put the remote needles in. Should i do this like the throttle set up or has anyone tried the two horns together and run on rod from servo to needles? Thanks

Paul

Most guys only adjust one needle on the inside motor. They rearly stay in sink adjusting them together. Pass ya later Charlie

I always have the needles together I don't adjust one engine the inside. If you tune your boat good you don't have to even touch the needles all weekend of racing.

If you only have adjustability in one engine (the inside) what happens if the out outside is too lean ??

In this section there are a Number of pictures of throttle and fuel needle set up. Just looking at the two picture provided...

a complete strip/gutting of the current radio box and starting over based on the set-up you choose...may be good idea..

This is my setup that I run now. 1 servo per needle. I have a 4 channel receiver. I program a mix. I can lean/richer both or adjust just one. I just got this setup done and only ran it once. Still only used the both option that time. I plan on doing some testing soon to get it dialed.

That's my setup works perfect.
J, how'd you screw them nylon journals down?
If I understand your question correctly. There a piece of threaded rod into the plastic arms and then the nylon spring locks threaded into that. With red lock tight. Same on both ends. Or if your talking about the outer plastic blue and red plastic pieces there glued on to the boat the the inner rod has grease inside so it don't leak inside the boat if it goes dead in the water.

Mike, Mark and I tried your set up with a V-TAIL mixture control device by ACE radio years ago.

It worked, BUT not practical and/or finctional when heat racing. Just too much going on in the heat and not able to hear the motors well to make adjustment.

Yeah I figure as much Doc. Just want to be able to test by myself a little easier. Tryign to speed up the process some.

How did you screw these down?
The wood pieces have a metal insert that's threaded on the inside of those metal pieces they have threats also so then we put the plastic piece on top then both of them and secure them using locktite. Pictures attached. The rods are cut to length the move around side to side a bit but won't come out as there held in place by the arms attached to them.

Tie them both together with push rods with one servo or two servo with a Y harness. Make sure your servo connection are very tight, no slop. You will find that after you are close with both motors on mixture the right motor will need to be a little richer than the left. You can hear the right motor running a little more load making it a leaner. A 1/8 to 1/4 turn out on the right needle will bring them both together or maybe a little more whatever is needed.
