thanks guys,
If your flex shafts are 1/4" stepped down to 3/16" stub, I have a pair of Prather 265 Stainless Steel props. Their close to a Octura X 472. Ray
would that be close to a cut down 472? X472 is a 72mm prop.. Id think a 265 is closer to a X467 which is 67mm

Ray, I don't want to step on your toes, but I had a twin cat and the 1/4 inch shaft stepped to 3/16th always snapped at the drive dog. Not because the props were not balanced, not because I hit something. Just too much prop on a shaft that is cut to 3/16ths. I tried the dog on the 1/4 inch part and on the 3/16th part. I tried a filletted joint where it stepped down too. Went thru a lot of shafts and lost props. USE 1/4 inch all the way.

Only reason was P265 is 3/16 hub, and I would'nt use a 3/16" shaft on a 90 motor. Step all you want, I wear steel toe boots. :p :p

Hello juice

Over here in Australia , I am currently getting a 43" Sprintcat rearranged to improve the balance of it . I was running 2 OPS 67 motors and considering going up in engine size . Most of the Sprintcats that I have seen over the years ran OPS 90 motors using a X 460/ 3 blade prop on 25% nitro . There was 1 of our members years ago with a worked OPS 90 running a X 665 . At a straight line event some time back also with a worked OPS 90 on 50% nitro , it used a X 465 cut down to a X 462 to give it extra pitch . As far as I know in Octura props , anything from a 467 and up has a 1 / 4 bore . I realise that it will be a trial to see what is going to work as most people over here tell me that when running 2 motors in a boat , you can go up 1 or 2 prop sizes compared to running a boat with 1 motor . Some boats favour Octura over Prather props , and it will be interesting to see what my boat prefer to use after it's finished - hopefully in time for the 2008 WORLD CIRCUIT RACING CHALLENGE 6 - 12 January 2008 at Penrith near Sydney , AUSTRALIA . Hope this helps in your efforts to have a quick and reliable boat on the water .

Regards

The Tall Fella
