what is best way to sharpen turn fin. i just bought the jae .21ob rigger

You can also get a Gary Preusse fin or a Mike Hughes fin...both sharpened already...

Are you wondering about the side to sharpen?

Preusse instructions say they sharpen theirs both sides down to the bend and then just the leading edge using a medium file or belt sander.

file the outside

On the JAE fins, it has been my experience to sharpen BOTH sides equally on the leading edge down to the bend, then sharpen the OUTSIDE of the fin below the bend, carefully blending the two together. The filed part of the fin will be about 3/16 to 1/4 inch wide on the 20 size fins. The parts of the fin that you file down need to be FLAT, not rounded to get the best performance from the fin. I learned the above information from none other than one of todays Birthday boys, World Record holder Kentley Porter!
