turboprop 1/8 scale

has anyone put a turboprop in a 1/8 scale hydro? i would do it in a heart beat but i don't have 5 grand. i think a prop turning at 90,000 rpm would smoke any ops or rossi. would it work? give me your feedback

I don't think you have the torque to spin any reasonable prop @ 90000 rpm. But may be with a 6:1 gearbox you can.

At 90,000 RPM, you don't have to use a 'reasonable' prop!

Those puppies put out between 20 and 150 lbs of thrust. The smaller one (about 4 lbs) spin up to a meager 154000 rpm ;D and put out 20 lbs of thrust.

Only problem is they consume about 12oz fuel per minute and the exhaust temp is around 1300 f.

Hot enough to melt the paint off of your competition’s boat 8)

I don’t think you can get them with a PTO I believe these are all low-bypass turbines.
