Do K & B 3.5's need to be modded to run Tuned Pipes?

It helps to raise the stock exhaust timing from 170 to 180 degrees, but otherwise the engine has pretty good timing.

B) you can purchase a new piston and sleeve that is made for "pipe timing"

as stated in the parts listings for k&b engines or send your motor to a good

eng. hop up guy like rod gerhity (spelling is wrong), but he is on this site all the time

THe K&B will handle a pipe as is, but like Lohring said, raising the timing is desirable. You will also need to cut the lower unit to make room for th e pipe's header.
