Tuned Pipe Question

Here is one that we talked about briefly last night in the chat room but I really didn't get an answer to.

If a tuned pipe comes off for some reason while you're runnning and there is no noticable change in performance except for more noise, what does this tell you? Was your pipe too long or too short or something else off such as carb or prop?

On a nitro engine running pipe pressure to the tank there will generally be a BIG change when/if the pipe were to fall off... The boat usually slows down (because you lose the boosting effect of the pipe) and the engine leans out (because you lose tank pressure).

I would think for your pipe to fall off and there be no noticable change in performance something would have to be way out of whack...
