Tune pipe stinger

OK Guys,

Here goes one of these educational posts. I would like to understand the stinger design relationship to the pipe. How do we figure out the stinger size, length and ID? I would also like to know if the long stinger placed into the pipe cone weld is a good or bad idea for the nitro engines for noise reduction.

Internal stinger works great foe noise reduction, started using it in '03 when the IMPBA noise rule came out and never looked back.

i can tell you from experience the diameter has the most effect, length very little. :huh:

It's all good info, but concerning your stinger questions scroll toward the bottom for the paragraphs titled "stingers" and "a few helpful facts". Hope this helps a bit.
