is it safe to put tubes inside of tubeless tires ??.....I have a rim leak in one of my aluminum styled wheels....thanks....bob

I am interested in hearing what every one thinks I have a rim leaking also. I thought about using a can of fix-a-flat but heard that is a real mess next time you get a tire replaced.

Is the rim leaking because of corrision on the rim try to wire brush the rim this usually works, also have used body putty, the green stuff if the pits are to deep, all this is ment to do is to smooth the rim so the tire will not leak, if all else fails buy a new rim. Walt

Bob, All of mine leaked so bad from corrosion I was putting air in them every 3 days. One would go flat. What is needed is a good wire wheel cleaning especially around the balancing weight. The damn salt around us is a killer. Firestone at the Blvd.Mall finally fixed the problem for me. You don't want to use an innertube because balancing the tire would be a real b****h. Tom

The problem with fix_a_flat is it don't always work... Not to mention if you bring it to a service center with the stuff in a tire they might charge you 10-30 just to clean it out!!!

Clean the rim with a wizzy disc or wire wheel and then coat with grease, rubber cement, or the black rim glue simal to rubber cement..

When you put the "fix a flat" stuff in, you will NEVER get the thing balanced, the liquid always floats inside the tire.

No, tires sold with tubes has the insides if the tire buffed so the tube wont get poked, tubeless tires are not buffed and will eat, put holes in the tube after very short amount of miles.
